Why book direct instead of through Sykes or an OTA?
Agency commissions and booking fees take a large cut. Booking with us means you pay the cottage price — no platform fee — and you deal with owners who live on the island. Read more in our why book direct guide.
How does payment work?
You pay a deposit online to secure the dates. The remaining balance is taken automatically before arrival. You’ll see the full total before you confirm.
Are pets welcome?
Well-behaved pets are welcome at Beachview and Carraview. See our dog-friendly cottages and pets guide. Tell us when you enquire or book so we can confirm any house rules.
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4pm (timed for ferry arrivals). Check-out is 10am. We’ll send arrival details after your booking is confirmed.
Do I need a car?
Yes — a car is strongly recommended on South Uist. The Co-op in Daliburgh covers groceries and electricity key top-ups. See Getting here for ferries and flights.
Can a large group book more than one cottage?
Yes. Use pricing & availability with your full party size — if no single cottage fits, we’ll suggest combinations (for example Carraview + Beachview). You can enquire about a combo or book each cottage separately.
