Carraview House is a modern detached holiday house in Strome, Kilpheder on South Uist, owned by Neil and Jackie MacDonald. At the end of the garden sit two lochs — one salt, one fresh — with wild salmon in season.

With space for ten guests, it is a natural base for family gatherings, friends travelling together, or anglers who want drying space, a freezer and a garage for wet gear. Shops, a bank and a post office are a short walk away in Kilpheder — unusual for a Hebridean stay.

Barra, Eriskay, Benbecula, North Uist, Lewis and Harris are all within easy reach for day trips. Book Carraview direct and you deal with owners who live on the island, not a call centre.
